Life is a lottery ticket

LIFE IS A LOTTERY TICKET

Life is a lottery ticket
for if I was born in nobility
I shall never be poor
if I was born in a paupers house
I shall be nothing more than a
pauper myself

Life is a lottery ticket
For if I was born in the US
I will never be a beggar
if  I was born in the slums of Mumbai
I would be one among the millions of faceless children

Life is a lottery ticket
for if was born in a religious home
only love would be showered on me
If I was born in a drunkards home
I would be scarred in violence

Life is a lottery ticket
For if I was born
in a place full of hospitals
I will not die before I mutter my first words
But if I was born in a place with no hospitals
I might not be that lucky

Life is a lottery ticket
for if I was born in a place of enlightenment
I will myself gain enlightenment
if I was born in a place of ignorance
I shall only contribute to that ignorance

Life is a lottery ticket
For I was born in a city
I would represent the future
if I was born in a village
I would only be at best a part
of the past

Life is a lottery ticket
and I thank god
for awarding me with one
